IgniteHQ member Kyle Cornelius is the top U.S. business development officer for Blesh, a high tech proximity marketing and IoT solutions provider founded in Turkey.
According to the website, the idea behind Blesh (Bluetooth Low Energy Smart Hub) “emerged as a breakthrough opportunity in mobile technology with the launch of bluetooth low energy (BLE) and Apple’s introduction of IBEACON in 2012.” Early this year at the MCWA in San Francisco, the company pointed out, “what search and social (think Facebook, Google…) has done for online data capture and communication capabilities, Blesh does for the physical world at a micro-locational level”.
Blesh’s beacon devices are placed in locations to directly engage with consumers through their mobile gadgets. Beacons can be used for promoting campaigns and offers, leveraging mobile content of the client’s app and its features. For example, when in a museum, detailed information on exhibited materials can pop up on a visitor’s phone when they are nearby.
Blesh beacons are also found in leading retail chains, airports, bank branches and ATMs, subway stations, malls, cafés and restaurants, office buildings, university campuses and a theme park. On the IoT side, Volkswagen is distributing up to 200,000 custom branded Blesh KeyFobs to new customers throughout parts of Europe. Each KeyFob is linked to the myVolkswagen app and can be used to find a lost key or phone as well as take a selfie from up to 50 yards away.
As Chief Motivator at Blesh (his official title), Kyle utilizes his extensive expertise in mobile startup experience to tackle business development, strategic planning and sales in the U.S. and abroad. He touts being a part of IgniteHQ as an integral part of his work.
“Being a member of IgniteHQ has helped my business make connections to the community,” said Kyle. “Introductions from those associated with IgniteHQ (have been) instrumental in growing my business.”
Blesh is already the largest beacon platform in Turkey deploying over 100,000 devices servicing over 250 brands. The company is aso an Apple-licensee and a Samsung Enterprise Application Silver Partner paving the way for a potential large expansion of its product. The strategic partnership forged with Google also puts Blesh at the forefront of Eddystone physical web sensor development.
“My goal is for Blesh to be recognized as an IoT/proximity solutions technology leader in the age of Smart Cities,” said Kyle. “This entails Blesh technology being successfully implemented across multiple verticals proving the value of our technology many times over.”
As a member of the Cobb County Government Affairs Committee and the Cobb Transportation and Transit Task Force, Kyle is passionately invested in the economic growth of the region and continuing to grow his business at IgniteHQ!
