IgniteHQ’s newest member, Intent Design Studios is an architectural firm taking a different approach to design.
Brian Sudduth founded Intent Design Studios earlier this summer after spending years working and eventually leading a small Atlanta based firm. He says he learned a great deal over the course of his tenure, especially how to better lead other architects in drawing more optimal buildings.
“Architects are taught to draw. They are taught the elements of architecture,” Sudduth said. “In order to create a successful business, architects need to focus on thoughtfulness and intention. If we focus on doing things right the first time the details will follow.”
Intent Design Studios was born from Sudduth’s philosophy that architects need to be allowed more time for thinking and planning their design before actually producing the drawings.
Barely a month old, Intent design studios boasts a team of four and a high tech office at IgniteHQ.
The studio team has been doing work across the United States and abroad with a focus on projects featuring everyday living situations. Sudduth and his team’s experience ranges from designing everything from student housing and retail space, to market rate apartments and assisted living facilities.
Sudduth says he joined IgniteHQ with plans to expand. He touts the flexibility, high speed internet and available conference space as top necessities for his business, but his favorite quality is the people.
“I love being at IgniteHQ,” proclaims Sudduth. “Working alongside so many different people from different backgrounds provides relief as well as an avenue to be more creative. You can really get outside your own box by talking to people with different specialties,” Sudduth added.
